On the afternoon of May 13, Chen Jianguang, Deputy General Manager and member of the Party Leadership Group of China Minmetals, Secretary of the Party Committee of MCC, and Chairman of MCC and China MCC, visited Dar, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in Beijing. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on cooperation in areas such as mineral resource development and the construction of non-ferrous metal industrial parks.
Chen Jianguang said that MCC, as one of the first central enterprises to "go global" and as a witness and participant of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor", has a long history of promoting cooperation between China and Pakistan in the mining sector. Currently, under the guidance of the "Belt and Road Initiative", MCC's mining projects in Pakistan have achieved excellent economic and social benefits, making positive contributions to mining and economic development in Pakistan. MCC boasts a full industrial chain advantage in non-ferrous mining, with globally leading design and exploration institutes and world-class mining development teams. We firmly believe that with the strong support of relevant departments in Pakistan, MCC has the confidence and ability to expand investment, extend the industrial chain, and increase the added value of mineral products through the development and construction of new projects. MCC will also actively establish vocational training schools and testing laboratories to cultivate local talents and empower the development of non-ferrous mining in Pakistan.
Dar said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners with an unbreakable friendship. Over the years, MCC has made indelible contributions in promoting mining cooperation between China and Pakistan, and has further benefited local people and improved their livelihoods in the pursuit of high-quality development. It is hoped that both sides will further strengthen mutual trust and assistance, enhance dialogue and exchanges, and deepen cooperation in various fields such as resource development, talent training, and mining technology transfer. Relying on its rich mineral resources, Pakistan will continue to support MCC in bidding for new mines, development, and the construction of industrial parks, and jointly solve various problems currently faced to help build a China-Pakistan community with a shared future for a new era.
Khalil Hashmi, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Beijing, Qadir, Commercial Counsellor, relevant functional departments of the MCC headquarters, and Wang Jicheng, Wang Bo, and other principals of MCCT participated in the meeting.
